Ashtopus Technologies RFID system integrator that specializes in bringing together RFID component (hardware and software regarding RFID tags) and subsystems into a whole supply chain and ensuring that those subsystems function together.

An RFID tag is basically a device composed of a small chip connected to a coil. The chip is essentially a state machine with a memory, providing limited storage and computation capabilities. The coil, which is typically referred to as the tag antenna, is used to power the chip and as communication interface

RFID tagging is an ID system that uses small radio frequency identification devices for identification and tracking purposes. An RFID tag (sometimes called an RFID transponder) consists of a chip, some memory and an antenna. Use of RFID tag system to recognized real-time tracking of high-value assets in closed-loop systems.

Classification of RFID Tags

rfid passive tag

Passive Tag

Also called ‘pure passive’, ‘reflective’ or ‘beam powered’ obtains operating power from the reader and reader sends electromagnetic waves that induce current in the tag’s antenna, the tag reflects the RF signal transmitted and adds information by modulating the reflected signal.

Semi-Passive Tag

Semi-passive tag uses a battery to maintain memory in the tag or power the electronics that enable the tag to modulate the reflected signal and communicates in the same method, as the other passive tags.

Active Tag

Active tag powered by an internal battery, used to run the microchip’s circuitry and to broadcast a signal to the reader it ensures a longer read range than passive tags ,it is more expensive than passive tags and batteries must be replaced periodically.
RFID Tags can be attached to many products such as, cases or pallets of products, high value goods, vehicles, assets, livestock.

RFID Transponders (tags) consist in general of:
  • Micro chip
  • Antenna
  • Case
  • Battery (for active tags only)

Advantages through RFID is not likely to entirely replace commonly used barcodes in the near future,Tag detection not requires human intervention reduces employment costs and eliminates human errors from data collection. RFID tags have a longer read range than e. g., bar-codes. ƒ Tags can have read/write memory capability, while barcodes do not. ƒ An RFID tag can store large amounts of data additionally to a unique identifier,RFID tags can be combined with sensors.

Innovation of high security system that combines with established security mechanisms to provide comprehensive security solutions through RFID tags it provides network-level security mechanisms combine to facilitate the reliable operation of RFID applications. The outputs can be relied upon many industry or business purposes.
